...but somehow Adam is still losing weight. We only got nine workout points this week... and Adam lost another two pounds bringing his total weight loss to 15 pounds. You guys should see him. He's looking really good. But we only got 11 points total, which is just sad. This week we're going to get back on the workout routine.
Stand by for some YUMMY recipes that I'm about to post on our blog. We had an excellent dinner tonight with oatmeal cookies for dessert.

| Snowshoed up that |
| Rode the ENTIRE Greenbelt to Lucky Peak... 58 Miles round trip. (This, we realize was a little ambitious. It took us 4 hours. We have sore bums today... actually we have sore everything today!) |

Monday Evening Workout
So tonight I went to the North Station to get on the tredmill. The first 10 minutes, I started having chest pain, and I thought about quitting. However, I remembered my cardiologist saying, "Don't worry about it." So, I slowed way down and it subsided. I kept going for an hour... Worked up a good sweat.

As Miley Cyrus would say..."It's the Climb"
(Kelsey here)
I thought it'd be fun to share some memorable work out experiences... maybe I have a sick version of fun.
Yesterday Porter and I went with his family to Idaho City to snowshoe some more. It's rolling mountains and everything is so pretty. Porters family hiked along the pretty, groomed, trail. However, Porter and I wanted a really good work out so we decided to go right UP the mountain! This turned out to be insane.
I knew it would be steep and hard, but I had no clue! It was 400+ft gain. Most of the time our faces were inches away from packed snow because of the steepness of it. My heart was pounding and my legs were burning trying to move up the steep mountain. Once we got on top of the first one we realized we still had TWO more! Plus we were breaking trail in 6 ft+ of deep snow. I can honestly say it was the hardest physical thing I've ever done. ... including a half marathon. It was my turn to break trail and we were at the steepest point yet and I was like, "I don't think I can make it." And Porter kept giving me points to look at and make it to. It was awesome!
I'm reading the book Between a Rock and a Hard Place and there's a quote I like about doing out doors stuff that totally relates. "It doesn't have to be fun to be fun." That's exactly how it felt yesterday. It was miserable but beautiful and a great sense of accomplishment. Plus, what goes up must come down right? Running down the hills were fun! Anyways, here's some pics.
I'm proud of my awesome in shape family! Love you guys!

Belly Fat

An expanding waistline can increase your chances for cancer.
Studies suggest that a trim tummy is just as important as having a healthy weight or Body Mass Index (BMI). That jiggle in the tummy increases your chances of getting colorectal cancer and possibly pancreatic, breast (after menopause) and uterine cancers, says the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR).
“It’s not just fat directly under the skin,” says Sally Scroggs, M.S., R.D., L.D., health education manager in M. D. Anderson's Cancer Prevention Center. “A wide waist also is a sign that fat may be growing around important organs, like the pancreas.”
Belly fat may increase insulin in the body
Extra belly fat causes your body to make too much insulin. High amounts of insulin cause your body to produce too many cells, which can lead to cancer.
Belly fat also can do bad things to sex hormones, like estrogen, which may increase your chances of developing breast cancer.
Measure your waist to check for health
The AICR suggests that women aim for a 31.5-inch waist or below and men a 37-inch waist or below. Follow the steps below to see how you measure up.
1. Place a tape measure around your waist at the narrowest point between the bottom of your ribs and the top of your hipbone.
2. Make sure the tape is snug but doesn’t squeeze your skin.
3. Measure your waist after breathing out.
